You’re describing downward mobility. Lower class, lower income women always worked AND made the home. Middle and upper class women did not. Now, there is hardly anyone left in the middle class, and upper class privilege has become so consolidated that it’s laughable. The rest of us? Welcome to the “peasant working class” of our modern era.
