This Is What Happens When You Make Corporations “People”
Free-for-all policies mean chaos for the rest of us. Who woulda thunk?
Imagine, if you will, a society without any enforceable rules. Not just written rules, mind you––no unspoken ones, normative ones, or basic-social-contract ones, either.
For the sake of my metaphor, bear in mind that this society is just like ours. There are lots of different personalities and identities included in it.
There are sycophants and saintly types, sociopaths and empaths, cat people and dog people…not to mention many different micro-groups who share their own specific histories and perspectives. No one faces consequences for anything they do, so long as they are part of this society.
How would that go, do you think? Hmmm. On second thought, let’s not imagine that. It’s f***ing stressful.
