The court in Virginia (and especially this judge) is notoriously biased against defendants in libel/defamation cases. A huge amount of evidence documenting Depp’s abuse of Amber was blocked from use during trial - the argument being that it’s a defamation civil case, not a criminal abuse case. Which, of course, is ridiculous considering the fact that the alleged defamation is ONLY “defamation” because she spoke about being abused.

Please review the UK case in full before solidifying an opinion with such high stakes. The trial documents are publicly available and have plenty of information that was left out of the US trial.
