My very best friend/soulmate is preparing to undergo top surgery next month, and this piece really helped me to address some of my anxieties about the operation (not because I think they'll regret it, but simply because I'm nervous about them going through surgery for basic risk reasons).

Ultimately I know that this procedure is absolutely worth it for them and I am SO happy they finally got it set up with the surgeon they wanted. I hope more of us cis folks learn to empathize and think deeply about our trans loved ones, because they need it so much - and it's not their job to teach us to figure out their basic identities.
