It’s sad that women believe it’s in any way acceptable to have a partner who is not only NOT encouraging, but downright discouraging.

It kind of sounds like he might just miss your part in the financial support of his past lifestyle. Fine, but he has no right to completely invalidate your choices and patronize you about it.

I may be young, but I think I have enough experience in love and relationships to say this: you have got to raise the bar and demand he reach it. You deserve better! You’re an adult, autonomous businesswoman - you don’t tell him what career he “must” pursue, so what gave him the right to dictate YOUR informed decisions?
