I'm a Muslim as well - theologically there is no basis for the injunctions against the LGBTQ+ community or the "dress code" touted by many fundamentalists within my religion. The Quran does not justify these rulings - but it does specifically call out the sinful nature of "making forbidden what is not" in God's eyes. So, I'm aware of people's perceptions. They're simply uninformed, uneducated, and, frankly, incorrect. You actually highlighted my point with this comment! So thanks :)
