I’d love to read a full article about this phenomenon!

It’s quite amusing to watch Americans who’ve recently “taken over” a British firm try an impose their will on us. For the reasons explored in this article, they think we’re reluctant to switch jobs and they impose “pay restraint”, and all sorts of draconian tactics. Then they get confused when people start resigning and the core skills start dissapearing. Of course they’re also rather thick, being American execs, and it takes a while to see what’s happening.

I’d love to read a full article about this phenomenon! It would hold a ton of insight and could really make people think about how depressingly authoritarian we’ve allowed our “work culture” to become.
