Honestly, part of me feels like women are simply coming to terms with the fact that they would PREFER to be single. They want to be. But many of us don’t have the words to articulate this fact, because there are a lot of social pressures and a TON of conditioning that blocks us from realizing this truth.

And that’s not to say that there aren’t downsides to remaining single, either. It’s just that plenty of women - like plenty of men - prefer those downsides over the ones a relationship involves.

I think that eventually women who simply want to be single, and who want this for their own reasons, will eventually become comfortable saying it bluntly and won’t feel the need to include a laundry list of justifications afterwards. That does all sides of the equation a favor!
