A very astute response that adds much to what I've written here - we are tempted to characterize things, as human beings, but I find that there's an odd amount of vitriol directed toward the Romance genre in general. It's a shame, because so many books in the category are actually incredible stories with unique, powerful writers behind them. I do feel like things are changing and these conversations are happening more often, nowadays, and that could make all the difference.
